The Ten Leadership Lessons

THE TEN LEADERSHIP LESSONS
AMERICAN CANNOT AFFORD TO IGNORE

America has already missed two golden opportunities to become energy independent. Republican President Gerald Ford (1976) and Democratic President Jimmy Carter (1978) both attempted on multiple occasions to pass a comprehensive national energy bill. Neither succeeded! Two failures – Three strikes and we are out!

As citizens and voters, how can we know which candidate is most likely to be able to convert his campaign rhetoric into legislative reality? History provides us with the answer. Ten factors have been reliable predictors in several significant legislative attempts by recent presidents. Currently, both Barack Obama and John McCain are failing the first and perhaps most important factor, not only for energy, but also for all of the other numerous issues that also demand immediate solutions, such as Healthcare.

As Yogi Berra might say, it looks like Jimmy Carter all over again!

There is a solution to this political nightmare. Presidential Lessons Learns – Follow The Leader offers not only a poignant historical review of the spectacular successes and frightful failures of four major presidential initiatives, but it also offers a blueprint for legislative achievement for future U.S. presidents. The hour is late and there will not be time for on the job training. Our next president must hit the road running! He will absolutely need to know what works and what has failed. This book provides the answers.

The last four Democratic presidents all had the extraordinary advantage of having a Democratic majority in both the House and the Senate during the first two years of their presidency. John Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson capitalized on their incredible leadership opportunity. More than 40 years later, the Apollo Space Program and the Great Society Programs are still major influences in our country today. On the other hand, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton both failed to capitalize on their good fortune. As a result, energy and healthcare are draining our national wealth, exporting our jobs, sapping our nation’s confidence and endangering our ability to chart our own destiny. We must know which candidate would be our most effective leader. This book offers startling insights. Please read it and use it. Informed citizens are our best hope! Bill Porter's New Book!

PRESIDENTIAL LESSONS LEARNED -

FOLLOW THE LEADER

WHAT NO ONE IS TELLING YOU!

Obama and McCain have both adopted Jimmy Carter’s flawed campaign strategy. The penalty for using this election tactic is that the next president’s legislative agenda will most likely meet the same fate as Carter’s energy proposal – FAILURE! Clinton used the same election strategy and as a result, national healthcare met the same fate as Carter’s energy plan.

McCAIN AND OBAMA ARE BOTH FAILING STEP ONE!

Leadership expert Bill Porter has just released, Presidential Lessons Learned – Follow The Leader - a must read for every American voter AND presidential candidate. This book can make a difference.

IT IS NOT TOO LATE – YET!

During years of presidential research, Bill Porter discovered an important correlation between a candidate’s election planning, and a president’s legislative success. Presidential Lessons Learned – Follow The Leader makes the case that a successful president must lay the foundation for his legislative agenda not in the transition period, or after taking the oath of office, but during the election process! (step 1 of 10).

KENNEDY & JOHNSON KNEW THIS – CARTER & CLINTON DID NOT!

You deserve to know what a successful candidate should be doing right now. Bill Porter is available for interviews about his book or as an expert source on these four presidential initiatives. For more information or to schedule interviews please visit our website.

Bill Porter Biography

Bill Porter is an international speaker, author and leadership consultant. For the past 35 years, Bill has been an active financial planning practitioner and is a former instructor of estate planning and taxation. From 1989 to 2001 he lived and worked in Europe. Bill is currently finishing his doctoral degree in the Executive Leadership Program at The George Washington University and holds a BS, Master of Education, is a Doctoral Candidate and a Chartered Financial Consultant.

Bill's book, Presidential Lessons Learned: Follow the Leader assesses the leadership strengths and weaknesses of four former presidents. He has spent the last four years researching presidential leadership, in order to identify successful strategies that can solve America’s pressing issues. The results were unexpected, profound and extremely relevant to the 2008 election. We now have a tool that we can use not only to assess each of the candidates, but also one that can alter the dynamics of the election process itself.

Like many other Americans, Bill feels that our country has lost its way and that neither presidential candidate has offered a definitive roadmap that will lead us back to the highway of prosperity and common sense. He knows we need a presidential leader who will accurately assess our situation (both for problems and opportunities), develop visions of the necessary action plans, generate public support for the shared visions, and ultimately obtain congressional approval for their enactment. Why are some presidents much more capable than others in successfully navigating their agendas through Congress and thus delivering on their campaign promises?

Follow the Leader answers those questions. By comparing four presidents and four legislative initiatives (two were successful and two were failures), we find that there are ten major rules that a president must follow to successfully enact legislation. Bill offers these rules as lessons for the next president to succeed.
